At long last…. edited down from over 260 to about 90 photos in five categories. Fhew, I take too many photos! But there are shots from graduation, the farm, the cemetery, Hillison Road and misc ones.
Also due to scads of work, these aren’t really edited very much. The photos here are just small version of very large higher res photos that can be edited, sharpened, cropped, etc.

We watched the Sound of Music, my favorite old musical. I knew Hayley would love the songs and she ended up deliriously dancing with Jeff during several numbers.
I had to grab the camera and take some photos of the adorable duo cutting a rug in the living room. Moments like this I fall in love with my husband all over again for his ability to be silly and wonderful with Hayley.

My mom was wonderful and a huge help, and it was just a great great time – we snuggled a lot, laughed, shopped and just goofed off. My stepdad brought Hayley a few clubs and they worked on golf – since he is a golf pro, he was in seventh heaven to play with a grandchild.
They left this morning to go back to St. Simons Island GA, as mom, Hayley and I cried our eyes out.
Best early mother’s day present I could have gotten – my mom and my daughter together. God they had so much fun together and my heart is happy.

With kids that fib (which most do at some point), a great idea that we got was the “truthtellers club”. Basically you make two boxes – one for the “truthtellers club” and one for what we call “the fibtellersclub”.
We got a ton of art supplies and two boxes. We made one wonderful and happy, the other dark and bleak. Hayley got to made the decision on what goes where, etc. I helped her with it some of course. Then you make figures of each of the people in the house with their photos.
You put it somewhere reasonably visible someone lies, you silently just move them from the “truthtellers club” to the “the fibtellers club”.
both clubs…

The lawyer has send the official adoption petitions to sign, notarize and send to the Clerk of Court! The Clerk will process the paperwork in 30 to 90 days and then issue a new birth certificate for Hayley Elizabeth Hillison! That’s it – we don’t go to court, we just get the paperwork in the mail that everything is done. Sorta anti-climatic but as long as she is ours, I really don’t care.
Her wonderful DSS social workers are coming this week as well to say goodbye. Their time with her is coming to an end and while it is sad, it is also a big step for her towards normalcy. And they go to court on the 23rd as well to report on her status, so they can say they have seen her.
Official adoption petitions!
