Photos from Christmas Eve next door at the Renfroes. This is the second year we’ve done this. Everyone just brings over some food and we snack away!
The kids are Hayley, Mason and Ethan, who are Wes and Jen’s, Joel who is John and Dawn’s son and Oleg who is Nancy and Mike’s son.

As many of you know, I’m the media director at the GlaxoSmithKline Invitational basketball tournament. Three days of awesome hoops at Reynolds in Raleigh.
Hayley came over and was ballgirl for about half the games. Then after the final night of play, to the consternation of the N.C. State staff, we all went out and shoot hoops. While none of us were State fans (me, Hayley and Alex are UNC fans, Bryan a UVA fan), it was an honorable old court worthy of a few photos of us playing on it. Of course, Hayley stomped on all the State stuff on the floor, which was awesome…

My brother-in-law Jay and I established a new family holiday tradition with gingerbread.
Hayley and I got a gingerbread kit and on Christmas Eve, we put it all together. It was fun but mostly because we did it together. We nibbled some on it that night and Christmas day but we realized most of us don’t like gingerbread that much.
After some jokes, Jay and I got the bright idea to take one of the remote control cars and smash it up. I don’t think anyone thought we meant it but we did. Hayley loves playing with Jay and their remote control cars, especially one named ‘Purple’.
So Purple’s battery was charged and the gingerbread house was brought outside
